Autumn Has Arrived, Are You Ready For It In Buffalo, New York

Now that fall has arrived in Western New York, it's finally time to fully embrace all that autumn has to offer in Buffalo.

No matter how much I've rallied against it, we can finally begin to embrace all of the apple-cinnamon and pumpkin-spice stuff that we've seen on shelves in stores for the last few weeks around town.

Apple picking, pumpkin patching, and of course, apple spice everything, including, but not limited to pumpkin spice wings.

But, considering fall has officially been in effect since Thursday, September 22, 2022, there are some things that we need to stop procrastinating about and start working on now before winter comes.

Have Your HVAC System Inspected And Serviced

If you ask most heating companies, they get the most calls for service on the first cold day when people turn on their furnace for the first time and it didn't work. Don't find yourself having to wait days or weeks, contact a qualified technician now and make sure your HVAC service is in good working order.

Clean Your Chimney, Fireplace, and/or Gutters

It's going to start getting cooler outside, which means you're more likely to fire up that fireplace. That means it is the perfect time to get up on the roof or hire a professional to clean up the chimney. While you're up there you can also clean out those gutters because we both know there's likely all kinds of stuff in there.

Check Your Doors and/or Windows For Air Drafts

We all know it gets cold in Buffalo, so why not make sure you don't have any drafty windows or doors in the house? If you do find some drafts, you can put some time sealing the gaps or putting some plastic up to the windows to reduce some of those air leaks.

Store All Of Your Summer Stuff
