New York Grocery Store Offering $40 Thanksgiving Dinner
As New York families struggle, waiting on the federal government to do its job funding SNAP, a grocery store with many locations around the state is stepping up to help. Even families who don't rely on SNAP are struggling. Grocery prices have been climbing since January, when they were supposedly going to start decreasing. Inflation has been climbing since the start of 2025, even though we were also told it would be going down. According to the Republican-led U.S. Department of Labor's Bureau of Labor Statistics,
"The index for food at home rose 2.7 percent over the 12 months ending in September, as it did over the 12 months ending in August. The meats, poultry, fish, and eggs index rose 5.2 percent over the last 12 months. The index for nonalcoholic beverages increased 5.3 percent over the same period and the index for other food at home rose 1.9 percent."

Thankfully, Governor Kathy Hochul and the New York State legislature sent out inflation rebate checks in October. It might not be a whole lot of money, but coupled with this deal, it can save Thanksgiving dinner. While this is not an ad, I will admit that this is one of my favorite grocery stores. ALDI is offering New York families an amazing deal to help make ends meet this Thanksgiving!
ALDI is giving shoppers 21 items, including a turkey - enough to feed a family of 10 - for just $40. That's $4 per person. At this point in time when grocery prices have skyrocketed and the government is doing a thing to fix it, this is a Godsend. Thanks ALDI!
Here's the dinner menu with ALDI's deal - a 14-pound turkey, rolls, cranberry sauce, mac and cheese, stuffing, mashed potatoes with gravy, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole and pumpkin pie.
ALDI does offer this disclaimer, "Price assumes a purchase of ingredients for a meal for 10 people including a 14lb Jennie-O® turkey, rolls, cranberry sauce, mac & cheese, mashed potatoes & gravy, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, stuffing, carrots, and pumpkin pie. Based on prices effective 10/15/25 – 12/24/25. Actual price will vary based on available products and your selections."

Scott Patton, ALDI's Chief Ooperating Officer said, “Thanksgiving is the biggest food holiday of the year, and ALDI is proud to lead the industry once again on price. Price leadership is part of our DNA, and the holidays are when our commitment to value really shines. We believe families shouldn’t have to make trade-offs to feed everyone, especially at Thanksgiving.”
One of the reasons I love shopping at ALDI is they offer quality products for low prices. You can download a copy of the $40 Thanksgiving meal deal from ALDI here. No coupons are needed.
