As we approach the Christmas holiday, I am reminded that it is just as important that we continue to give as much as we receive.

This is important because not everyone in our community has the ability to have a wonderful Christmas and there is a local community group that wants to help make Christmas morning a little brighter for children all across Buffalo.

Love is Love Helping Hands, a local neighborhood-based community group, is sponsoring a community event that is scheduled to take place on Friday, December 18th. in Buffalo's Broadway-Fillmore / Emerson neighborhood.

The Merry Christmas Toy Drive and Giveaway will take place from 3 pm until 6 pm outside of the old P.S. 44, which is located at 1369 Broadway St., near Miller.

The group will have new and gently used toys for children, warm clothes like hats, gloves, and scarves, along with donuts and hot chocolate to help keep you warm while you're outside.

There are so many children who doesn’t have the opportunity to get gifts. Children look forward to opening a gift even if it’s just a Barbie doll or a truck from dollar tree! We want to make sure every kid has a chance to feel some joy on Christmas morning.

Please be sure to share the flyer - we want to help as many children as we can on Friday
