As we get closer to 2018, I know a lot of people talking about how they’re going to make their lives better in 2018. You know, they're going to start to do things differently, like: eat better, exercise more, stop going out so much, stop smoking, get my finances in order, etc. (you know, that whole new year new you thing...)

But I’m curious, do you actually do the New Year’s Resolution thing, or are we just talking? I know it’s not that simple, we usually fail on the things we resolve to do better because we haven’t put in place a well thought out plan to achieve our goals.

In 2018, let us all hold each other accountable and find ways to support each other going forward. Here are a few things I think we can do:

Create a Plan: Don’t just talk about it, be about it and write it down - throw it on a ‘vision board’ and continuously check in on the plan.

Start Small: Go for the big goal, but break it down into small chunks that you can knock out. Give yourself the ability to get quick wins early…

Don’t Quit: It’s going to get hard, know that ahead of time - but remember why you made the resolution and stick with it.

Get a Friend To Hold You Accountable: Don’t try to do it alone, find a close friend (or your boo) for you to check in with and ask them to help keep you on track.

Get Rid of What Distracts You: If it gets in your way of success, you have to move it out. Like the eternal poet Beans said, they gotta either ‘Get Down or Lay Down.'

What other things can we do to help make ourselves successful in 2018?
