The Seneca Nation has finally opened its gas station and convenience store in downtown Buffalo. Seneca One Stop opened on Friday, May 21, 2021. The gas is free from New York State tax. In addition to gas, Seneca One Stop also sells cigarettes tax-free in its convenience store, according to WGRZ. The gas station is located at 180 Perry Street in Buffalo (at the corner of Michigan Avenue), which is close to the Seneca Buffalo Creek Casino.
Rick Blaszyk, CEO of Seneca Nation Enterprises retail division, told Channel 2 that they could offer lower prices on gas, but they don't want to run the few gas stations that are downtown out of business,
"We want to work with all of our neighbors and other business owners. ... We don't want to put anyone out of business."
Seneca One Stop has 14 fuel pumps. The convenience store is huge at 4,800 square feet, according to WGRZ. There is a Dunkin' Donuts drive-thru, which is awesome because the other Dunkin' located in downtown Buffalo has been closed since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. Seneca One Stop is open from 6 am to 10 pm daily.
The project began in the fall of 2020. According to Spectrum News, it created 14 new jobs.
