
2 New York Area Airports Are The Worst For Summer Travel
If you and your family are planning a vacation this summer, you may want to make sure your flight are not going out of or through these two airports. There is nothing worse than being excited and ready to get into your summer fun, only to grt bad news about your flight. Travel disruptions are the worst! I think the only thing worse than an issue with yourflight headed to vacation is a disruption on your flight home. At least when you're going you have something to look forward to. On the return trip your exhausted and just ready to get home.
As we talk about getting ready for travelling, do you have you REAL ID yet? The deadline to upgrade to a REAL ID was a month ago, on May 7, 2025. You can still fly without it if you have a passport or Enhanced New York State ID. Even if you don't have any of the three, you can travel, but prepare fore delays. There's some good news and then there is the bad news. One airport in the New York area made the list of the top 10 best airports, "Based on 'flight disruptions' from airports with 10,000+ flights in April 2025:"
JFK Ranked One Of The Best Airports For Summer Travel
AirHelp analyzed data to determine the 10 best and worst airports for flight disruptions. John F. Kennedy International Airport was ranked #5 among the best with 18.8% of flights disrupted. That seems pretty high, right? Well the #1 airport was San Francisco International Airport with 14.4% of flights disrupted, so I supposed it's all relative.

New York LaGuardia Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport Among The Worst Airports
When it comes to flight disruptions in April 2025, both major hubs in the NY area made the top 10. LaGuardia Airport fared a little bit better with 21.7% of flights disrupted, while ERW came in at #9 with 26.7% of flights disrupted.
