WNY Needs to Meet These Two Requirements in Order to Reopen
Western New York has two more requirements to meet in order to lift NY Pause and reopen the economy.
"We are in a far better place in Western New York than we had been even a week ago. We need to hit a few more benchmarks and metrics and a lot of that comes down to community spread and how the transmission is going. I can't control that, but the public can." ~ Lt. Governor Kathy Hichul via Buffalo News
In order to qualified to lift the NY PAUSE order and reopen our economy here in WNY, we have two more requirements to meet. We have successfully checked off five of the 7, including testing and contract tracers. However, we still need to have two weeks where we see a decline in hospitalizations, according to WKBW. We also need to limited hospitalizations over a three day average.
"We also need to have less than two new hospitalizations for every 100,000 residents over a 3 day average." ~ WKBW/a>
Phase one of reopening includes construction and manufacturing businesses. Hochul said that reopening guides would be going out to those types of businesses soon. Phase two of reopening includes professional services, retail, real estate and other lower-risk businesses. In the third phase, WNY restaurants, food services and hotels will be able to reopen. The last phase will permit entertainment, recreation and education to open back up.
