Williamsville Teens Coming Together To Help Raise Money For Make-A-Wish

A group of Williamsville high school students have come together to help raise money for Make-A-Wish Western New York.

The group of teens has come together from all three of the Williamsville high schools with the goal to raise enough money to grant six of their classmates' wishes this Spring.

According to WGRZ, each school is holding its own special fundraiser for the event.

 Each school is organizing and its own fundraisers as part of the "Willpower for Wishes" campaign, which runs through World Wish Day on April 29.

With each wish costing on average $10,000 dollars, the group of teens has set a goal of raising $60,000 by the end of April.

The "Willpower for Wishes" campaign has allowed the students who have been separated during the pandemic to come together and feel like a community again.

"Willpower definitely means to keep going during difficult times, and having that mindset that you can still go and get through those difficult times together," Williamsville East Junior Kennedy Intahar said.

You can also order special "Willpower for Wishes" merchandise and will all the net proceeds going to the fundraising effort. The students are selling T-shirts, Hoodies, Facemasks, Magnets, and more. You can order the merchandise HERE.

While most of the Make-A-Wish Western New York wishes this year are "At-home" wishes, with much of Western New York and the country reopening, the students are hoping that some of their classmates will be able to have Make-A-Wish trips.
