Health Code Violations In Westchester County Last Month

Each month, the hard-working health code inspectors in Westchester County publish the results of their inspections. If you live upstate and are planning a trip downstate, you definitely need to check out this list. Yes, it's still winter, but now is the time to start planning your spring and summer trips. One of the great things about living in New York State is all of the amazing food we have access to around the state. I know I am long overdue for another trip to New York City. I had planned to go last summer, but just couldn't find the time.

If you are planning a trip to NYC in 2025, you might want to check out Westchester County. It is located to the north of Bronx County.

There are six cities in Westchester County - Yonkers, New Rochelle, Mount Vernon, White Plains, Peekskill, and Rye. The county seat is White Plains and the biggest city is Yonkers, according to Wikipedia. As someone who lives upstate, I find it hard to figure out which restaurants are good when visiting downstate. That's where the health code violations come in handy. While 293 restaurants that were visited did not pass their health code inspections in December in Westchester County, 33 did. The health code inspectors check out all aspects of the restaurants (and non-restaurants that have food preparation). Things like how food is stored, how the bathroom facilities are kept, and if insects are present are just some of the things that spots can receive a violation for.

You should consider putting them on your list of spots to grab a bite to eat from. Out of 293 restaurants, only 33 passed, which means that they are doing things the right way.
