NFL Wild Card Weekend started off with a bang all across the league, with six games scheduled between the AFC and the NFC. The third of the playoffs saw the Denver Broncos fly into Western New York to face the hometown Buffalo Bills at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park, New York. This marks the Bills 6th straight playoff appearance after having won the AFC East title for five consecutive years.

This AFC Wild Card matchup between the Broncos and Bills marks the 42nd time the teams have faced each other, but surprisingly, it is only the 2nd time the teams have played each other in the playoffs. Since 1960, the Bills have led the all-time series between these two teams with 23 wins, compared to the Broncos' 17 wins. The teams have also tied each other once.

The game got off to a fast start for the Broncos as they received the first-half kickoff and drove 70 yards down the field to score the first points of the game. Rookie Quarterback Bo Nix tossed a 43-yard pass to Troy Franklin for the touchdown.

After the Broncos scored the first points, the Buffalo Bills mostly controlled the rest of the half on both offense and defense. Later in the first quarter, Buffalo's Tyler Bass kicked a 26-yard field goal to give Buffalo their first points. Buffalo then took the lead in the second quarter when James Cook took a 5-yard run into the end zone to score, which made the score 10-7 after Bass kicked the extra point.

As the second quarter was ending, it looked as if the Broncos were going to be able to tie the game with a field goal from Wil Lutz, but Lutz's 50-yard attempt was no good after the ball hit the goalpost upright.

The second half started with Buffalo getting the kick-off and after a good return by Ty Johnson, the team drove down the field for Tyler Bass to hit a 27-yard field goal, his second of the game. That kick by Bass which gave the Bills three more points, wasn't the only points the Bills would put up in the third quarter.

After the Bills defense forced the Broncos to punt, the Bills again moved the ball well, and on 4th and 1, Josh Allen tossed an amazing 24-yard scoring pass to Ty Johnson in the back of the end zone. Keon Coleman scored a 2-point conversion on the PAT to give the Bills a 21-7 lead as the third quarter headed toward a close. This game wasn't just all offense for Buffalo, as the Bills defense stepped up in a major way, preventing the Broncos from earning any first downs in the 3rd quarter.

The Bills didn't stop with its scoring ways when the fourth quarter started as Josh Allen tossed a pass to Curtis Samuel who made a tremendous 55-yard run into the end zone to score a touchdown on the first play of the quarter.

After some significant play by the Bills defense, the team added a third Tyler Bass Field Goal, giving them the lead 31-7. While the Broncos tried, it wasn't enough to catch up in the end, as Buffalo scored 31 unanswered points to secure the victory.

With the Bills securing their 24th win against the Broncos, they now look forward to the NFL Playoffs Divisional Round when the Baltimore Ravens will travel to Buffalo.
