While my family and I take time out to celebrate the independence of this nation and all of the freedoms that we have thereof; I can't help but think of my forefathers.

235 years ago, I don't think my ancestors were celebrating their independence on this day. More than likely they were still out in the field picking cotton or shucking corn...

British Author & Abolitionist Thomas Day wrote "If there be an object truly ridiculous in nature, it is an American patriot, signing resolutions of independency with the one hand, and with the other brandishing a whip over his affrighted slaves."

I am a lover of all American History (the good, bad, & ugly) and with all that happened in the storied history of our nation, I know I truly appreciate our independence. Know what you celebrate and why!

I hope you all enjoy this 'Life Love & Liberation' Weekend!
