A Rochester man was recently sentenced to two decades or longer in prison for a violent robbery. Marquis Hucks, 49, received a sentence of 20 years to life for stabbing and robbing a man in Rochester, according to Rochester First. Hucks stabbed a man in the shoulder and stole his bike from a Dunkin' Donuts parking lot on August 16, 2024. The victim was taken to the hospital and treated for his injuries. DA Sandra Doorley said,

“Marquis Hucks carried out a brutal and senseless act of violence to steal a bicycle. This assault could have easily ended in tragedy. The Defendant’s long and violent criminal history has shown a complete disregard for the safety and well-being of others. Based on the severity of this offense and his history, a life sentence was the only appropriate resolution.”
