The last few years have proven that Buffalo and Western New York have continued to earn their place as one of the centers of Hip Hop on the East Coast. As we see more top-notch music coming from artists who call the 716 home, we're beginning to see more activity on the rap, hip-hop, and R&B front.

It's quite easy to understand why, given all the incredible musical and artistic talent in Western New York and Southern Ontario. You can truly see talent in just about every corner of the region, from open mics to art installations all across the 716, 585, and 905. WBLK continues to do its part by highlighting talent through outlets like Homegrown Heat: The 716 Show, which gives artists a chance to showcase their skills on a larger stage.

From time to time, we open the doors to the WBLK Studio for Buffalo and Western New York artists who are making noise in the industry to come and talk about what they've accomplished and what they have on the horizon.

One of those opportunities happened this week as Buffalo-born rapper, audio engineer, and producer ToneyBoi sat down with DJ Heat to talk about the music project: Leave Your Ego At The Door. Plus, what life is like trying to navigate the music industry while wearing multiple hats, what it's like working with other artists in Buffalo, and his lead single: Momma Said Move Weight.

If that wasn't enough, ToneyBoi also dropped a little tea about a few projects that are coming from various artists within the Griselda collective.

If you're into Buffalo hip hop, then this is an interview you want to check out.
