The Copy and Paste Breakdown Common vs Bob Caldwell

Tonight's Copy and Paste breakdown comes from one of my favorite Common songs ever released in 2000. Common's song 'The Light' samples the 1980's Bob Caldwell song 'Open Your Eyes'.

Here is Common's song The Light: "The Light" is the Grammy-nominated second single off Common's 2000 album Like Water for Chocolate. It is produced by Jay Dee and features keyboards performed by James Poyser. Even though this is a good use of this sample I actually like the original better than the newer version.
