A teen who has been charged with shooting a 20-year-old woman to death in Lockport, is now facing a new charge after trying to escape custody. According to WIVB, the 17-year-old was able to slip out of his handcuffs while being transported to a medical appointment. He attempted to escape police custody near Jefferson and East Ferry Street on Friday, December 11, 2020. He was caught by a citizen. He is currently in the Erie County Youth Services Center. The teen is now facing additional prison time of up to 7 years for the attempted escape charge.

20-Year-Old Cheyenne Farewell Shot to Death in Lockport

The teenage male was initially being held in connection to the murder of Cheyenne Farewell. The shooting happened at a Halloween party at a home in Lockport. She was killed just after midnight on Saturday, October 17, 2020, according to WIVB. Cheyenne was on of six victims hit by bullets in what is described as a teenage beef. Five other people were wounded and none of the victims had anything to do with the conflict, according to the Buffalo News. A 16-year-old was also charged in the shooting. Each of the teens is facing charges of second-degree murder and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
