Everyone in the Northeast is bracing for Hurricane Sandy. Parts of New York City and New Jersey have already been evacuated in preparation for the storm. Locally, we aren't supposed to see much until Wednesday (October 31), which would put somewhat of a damper on any trick-or-treating plans.

I have been a weather junkie my entire life. But, when there is a big storm like Hurricane Sandy headed our way, I am obsessed! If you would like to follow the storm and get some insight as  what other areas are doing to prepare/recover from the damage, I think you will find this helpful.

With Hurricane Sandy getting ready to head toward Buffalo, there have already been numerous flights delays and cancellations! It may not be bad weather here, but it may be where the plane you are taking is coming from or heading to.

New York, New Jersey and other coastal states announced evacuations of citizens living in low-lying coastal areas on Sunday, as Hurricane Sandy and an accompanying storm surge threatened the East Coast of the United States.

It seems pretty much a lock that we are going to get some heavy rains from what is going to be left of Hurricane Sandy. The storm is very large, and most of the forecasts call for Western New York to be impacted by the beginning of the week.

Although it's hard to think about looking outside your window at today's gorgeous sunshine, we're used to bad weather around this time of year in Buffalo. The winter brings snow, ice and generally bad conditions, sometimes as early as October. We also get our fair share of wind and rain from East Coast tropical storms. But both together? It could happen next week.
