You can now check on the status of your stimulus check from the government, or expedite the process if you haven't filed your taxes for 2019 yet.

Taxpayers who haven't authorized a direct deposit could be waiting weeks for a check in the mail -- though they can update their bank information using Treasury's new web portal, which went live Wednesday.

While millions will receive their checks on Wednesday, there are different levels of priority. People who have already filed their 2018 and 2019 taxes AND have authorized the IRS to make direct deposits will get theirs first, with priority placed on those with the lowest incomes. Many senior citizens will receive theirs regardless, as Social Security recipients will get them even if their taxes aren't filed.

If you are not on Social Security or you haven't filed your taxes yet, you can use the portal to speed up the process by entering the key information required by the IRS.

If you're not sure which group you fall into, you can check your payment at the portal as well.
