Soulja Boy Arrested, Jussie Smollett Pleads, Meekend In Philly; Here Are Your Top Three Entertainment News Stories of the Week!
Soulja Boy has been pretty much flying under the radar and off the grid for quite some time. He resurfaced in a major way however after an interview with the Breakfast Club went viral. Afterwards, business is of course booming but as the saying goes...more money more problems! He's at the center of a kidnapping investigation which caused police to search his home where ammunition was found. This is a clear violation of his probation enforced in 2016 so he was arrested but has since announced that he's out. He also took jabs at fellow rapper 6ix9ine when announcing his release stating that he's not going out like him!
Jessie Smollett pleads not guilty in the case against him stemming from an indictment charging him with 16 counts of Disorderly Conduct related to the false hate crime attack he reported to Chicago Police on Jan. 29th. His court date has been scheduled for April 17th. It's already reported that Smollett will be removed from his breakout role on 'Empire' so it's looking all bad for the actor.
This weekend officially belongs to Meek Mill in Philly Council as President Darrell L. Clarke made it officially Meek Mill weekend. I've heard of days, but a whole weekend? Yup. That's right. It's an honor that has been bestowed upon the "Championships" rapper for his his substantial efforts for criminal justice reform, as well as his contributions to music and art. He was present to accept the proclamation because his Motivation Tour was in his hometown this weekend, and he promised to help the younger generations navigate through the judicial system. Big ups to Meek Mill and congratulations!
