Saratoga Food Store Named One of World’s 50 Best
A legendary market in Saratoga Springs is getting worldwide recognition.
For locals in Saratoga Springs and the Capital Region, Putnam Market is a well-known and highly respected destination for quality eats. That great reputation has now gone worldwide!
The Financial Times recently revealed their "50 Greatest Food Stores In the World" which recognizes great markets from Rome to London to Berlin to our very own Putnam Market right here in Saratoga Springs. The Times calls Putnam the spot "...where tourists and locals alike come for lunch and a spot of dessert" and goes on to brag about its amazing cheese section, the legendary Catherine sandwich, and more. We know Putnam not only as a top-flight local spot for sandwiches and specialty foods but also for their great selection of wines in their wine room.
In general, the honors, recognition, and just the national exposure for Saratoga have just been out of this world recently. Walt and Whitman was recently recognized as one of the best new breweries in the country, some Spa City chefs recently competed on the Food Network show Beat Bobby Flay, and we are even getting some Hollywood love with Owen Wilson in town filming the independent movie "Paint."
It has never really been a secret what a great destination Saratoga Springs really is. Maybe now the legend is just continuing to grow with all of this great buzz!
