Want To Be A Boat Owner? New York State Holding Auction For Sailboats
New York State is auctioning off a sailboat fleet used by a SUNY college sailing team. The Office of General Services will be holding an auction for the surplus boats. A total of 20 Zim Club 420 sailboats will be available. The sailboats will be divided among six lots with between one and six vessels per lot.
If you are interested in bidding on the sailboats, you can take a look at them prior to the auction event. They are available for inspection Monday through Friday between 10 am and 6 pm at SUNY Maritime College, located at 6 Pennyfield Avenue in the Bronx. You can email waterfront@SUNYMaritime.edu to possibly set up a different inspection time or make an appointment.
Registration will take place on the day of the auction starting at 8:30 am. You can also pre-register online here.

- Heavy-duty white rub rails
- Heavy-duty molded bow bumpers
- Plexus adhesive fill in the 12 inches of the bow and the last 12 inches of the gunwales
- Gel-coated bow numbers
- Recessed centerboard gaskets, some of which are leaking and may need to be replaced
- Tennis ball transom drains
The Office of General Services is the New York State agency that holds auctions to sell surplus or unwanted items from state property.
