If you're a Bills fan or even if you've lived in Western New York, then you likely know who Rob Gronkowski is.

The Buffalo native played 10 years with the New England Patriots, before retiring for a season, then coming out of retirement to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2020. He and his old Patriots quarterback Tom Brady won another Super Bowl together back in early February.

However, you may not know that Gronkowski was a free agent when the legal tampering period opened on Monday...that's when unrestricted free agents can talk with teams about contracts. In fact, Gronk almost came back to Buffalo.

According to Mike Silver of Sports Illustrated, Gronk considered signing with the Bills, in what would've been a similar offer from Tampa Bay. In the end, Gronk stayed with the Bucs on a one-year, $10 million deal.

Gronkowski attended Williamsville North High School and later attended Arizona University. He was drafted by the Patriots in 2010.

It was tough watching him dominate the AFC East for a decade in New England and even though he might be seen as an enemy in Buffalo now by some fans, it would've been cool to see him finish out his career with his hometown team on what is a Super Bowl contender with the Bills.
