Red Tails is the first all-African American action film ever. It depicts an adventure of  the Tuskegee Airmen and their struggle as fighter pilots during WW II in 1944. These airmen made history as the first all black aerial combat unit to fight in the war.

George Lucas, the producer and creator of the story, said he has been working on this film for over 20 years. Lucas explained how tough it was to get funding for the movie because there were no white leading roles. Lucas said his purpose in writing the movie was to let young African American males know that there were “real black heroes and they helped build the country”.

Red Tails has an amazing cast including Cuba Gooding Jr., Terrance Howard, Samuel Jackson, Neyo, and so many more.  I can’t tell you how excited I am to see this movie displaying that courage has no color. It’s rated PG-13 and opens in theaters everywhere on January 20.
