Several Great Concerts At This Years New York State Fair

Summertime in New York State means there are tons of fun and exciting things to do all over the state.

Whether it's experiencing the energy of NASCAR racing at Watkins Glen or watching New York's only NFL team start another great year of football, the Empire State is one of the best places to be.

In addition to these activities, one of the most exciting events of the year is just around the corner and this year's lineup of entertainment at the Great New York State Fair has lots of people excited.

The Great New York State Fair Is Back For Its 181st Year

Since 1841, the New York State Fair has happened in the Empire State, highlighting some of the best things that New York has to offer. The fair has happened every year for the last 182 years, except for 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic necessitated it being canceled for that year.

The state fairgrounds, which sit on Onondaga Lake just outside of Syracuse, sit on more than 370 acres of land and have nearly 400,000 square feet of space for people to enjoy themselves. The Midway features more than 100 rides for adults and kids, along with multiple entertainment stages that host tons of shows and concerts.

Going on for 13 days, the fair runs from Wednesday, August 23 through Labor Day, Monday, September 4, 2023, from 9:00am – 11:00pm every day. Tickets to the fair are only $6, with children 12 and under and seniors aged 65 and older given free entry.

This Year's New York State Fair Concert Lineup Is Pretty Awesome

The state fair boasts several great concerts at both the Chevy Court and Suburban Park stages.

All concerts are free with fair admission, so you can see several amazing acts like Rebecca Black, Slick Rick, REO Speedwagon, Chubby Checker, Bret Michaels, The Frey, and more for just 6-bucks.

All concerts/acts in the Chevrolet Music Series – including those at Suburban Park – are free to fairgoers at the price of admission. Seating areas in Suburban Park are available on a first-come, first-seated basis. Additional information is provided in the Fair’s Concert Policy.
