The Niagara Falls City Council voted 5 to 0 to protect dogs in freezing temperatures! A new ordinance passed on Wednesday (March 6), according to WIVB. The ordinance is similar to one passed in Buffalo that makes it against the law to leave a dog outside for a long period of time in freezing temps or extreme weather. Police and animal control will enforce the ordinance. An owner could face jail time and a fine of up to $1,000!
