I'll tell you what, I'm glad I don't eat oysters. They seem slimy and flavorless to me but to each their own.

The FDA has issued a warning about consuming frozen half-shell oysters, frozen oyster IQF, and frozen oyster blocks that were harvested on February 6, 2022, from Designated Area No. II, Dai One Food Co., ROK. The oysters were distributed to New York State. In addition to New York, 12 other states were affected - Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia.

The warning is issued to restaurants and retailers in New York. Also, people who are pregnant, elderly, or have weakened immune deficiencies need to avoid these oysters.

The FDA is advising consumers not to eat, and restaurants and food retailers not to sell, and to dispose of Dai One Food Co. frozen half shell oysters with a harvest date of 2/6/2022 from Designated Area No. II and sold in the states named above.

Illnesses have been reported by people who have consumed the oysters. So far, the sickness has been isolated to Nevada. The Southern Nevada Health District reported two clusters of illnesses from people who consumed the oysters at a restaurant in Las Vegas on October 28, 2022, and November 5, 2022. One confirmed case of sapovirus illness has been reported in Nevada and there are nine potential cases.
