Troopers With The New York State Police Make Multiple Arrests In WNY
New York State Police Troopers have been busy over the past few days. They have arrested multiple people in Western New York for charges ranging from DWI to gun charges.
Angola Man Arrested For DWI
On March 12, 2023, Troopers out of SP Boston arrested a 39-year-old man for felony Driving While Intoxicated-Previous Conviction Within Ten Years. Troopers were called to West Seneca for a report of a disabled vehicle on Southwestern Blvd. Police interviewed the driver Paul J. Biellak of Angola. Troopers determined that he was allegedly impaired and operating his vehicle. He failed standardized field sobriety tests. Biellak was arrested and processed at SP Elma. A chemical breath test revealed he had a blood alcohol level of 0.18% BAC. Biellak was released with appearance tickets and is due to appear in a Town of West Seneca court at a later date.
Troopers In Fredonia Arrest Two People For DWI
On Sunday, March 12, Troopers stopped a 23-year-old Dunkirk woman who was going 71 mph in a 50 mph zone on Route 60 in the town of Pomfret. Troopers interviewed the driver, Natasha D. Keller, who allegedly showed signs of impairment. She was arrested and taken to SP Fredonia. A chemical breath test revealed a .24% BAC, which is three times the legal limit.
On Saturday, March 11, Troopers arrested a 44-year-old Buffalo man for Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers responded to a report of a vehicle that had traveled off the road on State Route 60 in the town of Pomfret. During an interview with the driver, Shaun M. Carter, troopers allegedly smelled alcohol. Carter failed standardized field sobriety tests at the scene. He was transported to SP Fredonia, where a chemical breath test revealed a .14% BAC.
Olean Man Arrested By NYSP For Robbery
On March 11, 2023, Troopers out of SP Olean arrested a 24-year-old Olean man for Robbery 1st degree (B Felony), Menacing 2nd, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd. Troopers out responded to a report of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle on North 3rd Street in the village of Allegany. An Investigation revealed that John C. Tait took the vehicle. The complainant said Tait allegedly had a semi-automatic handgun in his possession when he demanded the keys to the vehicle so he could drive to Buffalo. A .380 pistol was found in the stolen vehicle. Tait was taken to SP Olean and processed and arraigned in the town of Ellicottville Court. Tait was remanded to the Cattaraugus County Jail. An Order of Protection was provided to the victim.
Troopers Arrest Two Lockport Men For Warrants, Gun Charges
On March 10, 2023, Members of the New York State Police Community Stabilization Unit arrested Dwight R. Williams, 44, and Dillon S. Smith, 31, both of Lockport. On March 9, the Unit received information regarding the two wanted subjects. Both were located Royal Parkway South in the town of Lockport and arrested. Williams had a loaded Jimenez Arms 9mm pistol in his possession. Both individuals were transported to SP Lockport for processing, then they were taken to the Niagara County Jail for centralized arraignment.
