New York State Police Arrest 9 WNY People For Child Porn, DWI, Theft
New York State Police have been busy in Western New York this past week. They have arrested 9 people on various charges, including Driving While Intoxicated, child pornography, theft, and more.
Olean Woman Arrested For Larceny
On November 3, 2022, SP Olean Troopers arrested a 33-year-old Olean woman for an alleged theft that happened almost a month earlier on October 7. Katie M. Willis was taken into custody for Petit Larceny. She allegedly stole $97 worth of items from the Walmart in the town of Allegany. She was given a ticket and is due back in Allegany Town Court later this month.
NYSP Arrest Buffalo Man For Child Pornography
Jose R. DeJesus of Buffalo was arrested by New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation out of SP Clarence on November 2 for alleged crimes against children. The 33-year-old man was charged with Promoting Sexual Performance by a Child and Possessing Sexual Performance by a Child, both felonies. During an investigation by the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and the Troop A Computer Crimes Unit police determined that DeJesus possessed and shared child pornography.
Two People Arrested For Theft At Dunkirk Home Depot Store
Two people were arrested by Troopers on November 1, on multiple charges. Troopers out of SP Fredonia arrested Alisha H. Scinta, 52, of Dunkirk, and Dennis C. Weaver, 23, of Cherry Creek for Grand Larceny, Petit Larceny, Driving While Ability Impaired by Drug, and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation. Troopers had been called to the Home Depot on Vineyard Drive in Dunkirk for a shoplifting incident involving multiple people. Scinta had been detained by store employees. Upon further investigation, police found a disoriented Weaver in the parking lot saying that he was waiting for his mother. Troopers say he showed signs of impairment. Both Scinta and Weaver were taken to SP Fredonia for processing, issued tickets, and are due back in Dunkirk court later this month.
NYSP Troopers Arrest Salamanca Woman For DWI
On Halloween, October 31, 2022, Troopers out of SP Olean arrested a 26-year-old Salmanaca woman for allegedly Driving While Intoxicated. Troopers conducted a traffic stop of a vehicle driven by Arlena T. Jimerson on State Route 417 in Salamanca for traffic infractions. Officers allegedly smelled alcohol and Jimerson failed multiple standardized field sobriety tests. She was arrested and transported to SP Olean, where police recorded a blood alcohol content of .11 percent. She was given a ticket and is due back in the City of Salamanca court later this month.
Cheektowaga Man Arrested For DWI
A 58-year-old Cheektowaga man was arrested by NY State Police on October 29. Troopers out of SP Clarence arrested Gregory M. Pitillo for allegedly Driving While Intoxicated. During a traffic stop on State Route 33, police noticed signs of impairment and he failed standardized field sobriety tests. Pitillo was arrested and taken to the SP Clarence precinct. He had a .11 percent BAC according to a chemical breath test. He was given a ticket and is due back in the Town of Cheektowaga court at a later date.
Three Men From Amherst, Depew Arrested For Child Porn
SP Clarence, Bureau of Criminal Investigation and Troop ‘A’ Computer Crimes Unit, conducted an Internet Crimes Against Children investigation in the Town of Amherst and Village of Depew. Three men were arrested:
- Samuel P. Lipsius, 25 of Amherst, was charged with Promoting Obscene Sexual Performance by a Child, ‘D’ Felony and Possession of Obscene Sexual Performance by a Child, ‘E’ Felony.
- John B. Merow, 74 of Amherst, was charged with Possession of Obscene Sexual Performance by a Child, ‘E’ Felony.
- Gene T. Smith, 65 of Depew, was charged with Possession of Obscene Sexual Performance by a Child, ‘E’ Felony.
