New York State Police Arrest Multiple People In WNY For Various Crimes
New York State Troopers have been busy in Western New York, arresting multiple people for various crimes. Here's a look at the arrests made during the past week.
Jamestown Man Hit With Felony Charges For Dirt Bike Thefts
Troopers out of SP Fredonia arrested a 22-year-old Jamestown man on December 03, 2022, at approximately 02:30 pm. Cortland J. Hepfner was arrested by The NYSP Bureau of Criminal Investigation for Grand Larceny and Burglary 2nd degree. The incident happened during the summer. On June 09, 2022, Troopers responded to the report of a burglary on Klondike Road in the town of Ripley. The victim said a person had broken into their garage and stole a Kawasaki dirtbike worth $4,000.00. The stolen property was located a few days later in the town of Dunkirk and returned it to the owner. The investigation led NYSP to Hepfner, who was on probation for a prior robbery. He was remanded to the Chautauqua County jail with $50,000 bail.
Lockport Woman Arrested For DWI
On December 2, 2022, NYSP Troopers out of SP Boston arrested a 34-year-old Lockport woman for driving while intoxicated, drinking alcohol in the vehicle, driving the wrong way on a one-way street, and moving from lane unsafely. Megan L. Mangold was caught driving the wrong direction on SR 219 in the town of Boston. She was placed under arrest after failing standardized field sobriety tests’s and transported to the SP Barracks in Boston for processing. Mangold had a .17% BAC. She was issued traffic tickets and is due back in court in the town of Boston court on December 19, 2022.
Two WNY Men Arrested For Crimes Against Children
On November 30, the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation at SP Clarence arrested a 25-year-old mand and a 28-year-old man, both of Cheektowaga for Promoting a Sexual Performance of a Child. Yash Tangri and Brandon G. McDougall were each arrested for possession of child pornography. Tangri is due back in court in the Town of Amherst at a later date. McDougall is scheduled to appear at a later date in the Town of Cheektowaga Court.
Lockport Woman Arrested For Stealing From Tractor Supply Store
On November 29, at 5:00 pm, Troopers out of SP Lockport arrested a 43-year-old Lockport woman for Petit Larceny. Natasha M. Calato was arrested after Troopers were called to Tractor Supply on Transit Road in Lockport for a larceny complaint. Tractor Supply loss-prevention alleges that Calato took merchandise without paying. She was taken to SP Lockport for processing. Calato was given a ticket and is due back in the town of Lockport court later this month.
