Speeding In New York Will Cost You More This Year

Speeding in New York will cost you more. Governor Kathy Hochul is making good on her 2023 promise to make roads in New York safer. In her “Achieving the New York Dream” agenda, Gov. Hochul outlined the changes taking effect.

"Governor Hochul will direct the Department of Motor Vehicles to amend regulations to
increase the number of points associated with dangerous driving and decrease the threshold at which dangerous drivers are disqualified from holding a license. She will also direct the DMV to amend regulations to lower the bar for permanent license
forfeiture for reckless drivers who continue to drive under the influence of mind-altering substances."
