New York Moms Find Freedom To Cheat As School Starts
As the kids get ready to head back to school, some moms in New York may be headed to their lovers' arms. As moms get more freedom with the kids tied up all day, they may be more likely to cheat, according to adult site Ashley Madison. Many moms are the sole guardians of their children, especially when summer hits, so they lose their free time and may feel resentment towards their spouses and significant others, resulting in extramarital affairs.

Good News For Cheaters In New York
Not too long ago, it was illegal to cheat in New York. Per N.Y. Penal Law § 255.17, adultery was a class B misdemeanor,
A person is guilty of adultery when he engages in sexual intercourse with another person at a time when he has a living spouse, or the other person has a living spouse.
Both single and married people could be charged for participating in an extramarital affair. According to the law firm Proto, Sachs & Brown, you could spend 3 months in jail, get hit with a $500 fine, or receive one year on probation for committing adultery.
Senate Bill S8744 and Assembly version A4714 both passed and were signed by Governor Kathy Hochul. The bills repeal the crime of adultery. If Gov. Hochul signs the bills into law, section 255.17 of the penal law would be repealed immediately. The Senate bill passed on April 3, 2024, with 57 votes in favor and 4 against. The Assembly bill passed with 137 votes in favor and 10 against it.

- 64 percent of women in the survey admitted to cheating while their kids are in school
- 53 percent of those surveyed say daytime is when they prefer to cheat
- 32 percent of women polled like noon to meet with their sidepiece, 16 percent of women opt for the morning
- 39 percent of female Ashley Madison members say they hook up with their affair partner once a week
- 25 percent say they meet their affair partner twice or more per week
Dr. Tammy Nelson, a sex expert and author of The New Monogamy, told Ashley Madison,
“It’s a long-held belief that women take on the lion’s share of the emotional labor within the family and over time this can be taxing on women and put a strain on the marriage when the basic female needs of mothers go unmet or unnoticed. When the kids are out of the house, busy moms can finally breathe again and reassess their own needs.”
