The man has been identified as Charles Elardo, according to WIVB.

Police in Amherst found a man lying in the middle of the street on Sunday, November 29, 2020, according to WKBW. The man was badly injured when police found him in the middle of Thistle Lea around 3 am. He was transported to Erie County Medical Center, where he passed away from his injuries. Police haven't released his identity as of now.

Amherst Police are investigating throughout the area. They are looking for any witnesses or video that can help determine what happened to the man. If you are in the area and have any footage that might help police, call 716-689-1311. According to WIVB, the Erie County District Attorney's office is also investigating the incident.
