Another person has died in the custody of Buffalo Police!

Buffalo Police were investigating a call about suspicious activity on Hoyt Street around midnight when the incident happened, according to WGRZ! Lt. Jeff Rinaldo claims the man tried to run from police, once they caught him and put him in custody, they realized he was in "medical distress.

Lt. Rinaldo said that police took the handcuffs off the man to give him first aid. He was taken to the hospital, where he later died. As of now, police are only identifying him as a black male in his 20s, although a memorial for him identified him by his street name,"Meech."

The officers who were on the scene and involved in his death have been placed on administrative leave, which is standard. The New York State Attorney General's office will also get involved to investigate, according to New York State law.
