Festivities are happening all over the nation celebrating I love Lucy star Lucille Ball’s 100th Birthday today (August 6th.)

The Hollywood Museum opened its Ball tribute exhibit Thursday. It was a red carpet event with many stars in attendance including surviving members of the I Love Lucy cast and crew. Hollywood fans held a look-alike contest at the museum also.
The Hallmark Channel is running an I Love Lucy marathon today. Google is paying tribute to Ball with a 1950s TV set graphic above their search bar, featuring classic clips of I Love Lucy. This year marks the 60th anniversary of the show.
Ball died in 1987 due to heart-related complications in Los Angeles.  She is survived by a daughter Lucie Arnaz. Arnaz stated to The Los Angeles Times “…It is bizarre to be me. I think she would, of course, be extremely honored and proud.”
