The Matt Urban Center has been serving the East side of Buffalo for over 40 years and surrounding towns such as Cheektowaga and West Seneca. The basic mission of the center is to revitalize neighborhoods and help serve families with basic needs.

I spoke recently with the director of the Matt Urban Center Kevin Glover, via phone.

We help and serve the community by providing a weekly soup kitchen Monday through Friday from 2pm to 5pm and many other services as well.

The Matt Urban Center is located at 385 Paderewski Drive, and to help during these trying times here in Western New York that many people are facing, the center will be providing hot meals daily from 2 pm to 5 pm and every Tuesday is food pantry day from 12 pm to 4 pm. All meals and food pantry items are grab-and-go. Masks and social distancing guidelines are enforced.

It's always great to see and hear about local community centers stepping up to help out our fellow neighbors in times of need. The Matt Urban Center is also a Homeless outreach center and they will be resuming their essentials closet and clothing boutique in 2021.
