Here are the results of Livingston County's health code inspections in January. Each month health code inspectors in Livingston County are tasked with going to restaurants and other businesses and institutions that prepare food.

These health code inspectors issue violations, which can be classified as critical or non-critical. Health code violations can be something like, "Plumbing and sinks not properly sized, installed, maintained; equipment and floors not properly drained," which is non-critical, or "Cooked or prepared foods are subject to cross-contamination from raw foods," which is a critical violation.

Thankfully, the results of these inspections are not buried or hidden; they are available for the public to see. Some restaurants take issue with the inspection results being published, but if they had been following the rules and keeping their customers safe, they would not have any violations. I guess some businesses would rather place the blame for their shortcomings on everyone else, rather than take responsibility.

The four restaurants and one institution below are the only ones who had ZERO health code violations in January. Only 5 is pretty disappointing, but at least there are 5. One thing some people might not be happy about is that the Livingston County Jail had ZERO health code violations last month. Take a moment to think about that. People locked up in jail are getting safer food than customers of some popular restaurants in Livingston County. You can view the results of ALL health code inspections here. Contact me here.
