Kodak Black Trial Likely To Start Soon
Kodak Black is facing sexual assault charges in South Carolina where he was accused of raping a high school student at a hotel in February 2016.
Now prosecutors are eyeing a summer trial in the case because Kodak is currently on tour.
According to The State, 12th Circuit Solicitor Ed Clements said Kodak will likely have to return to South Carolina in either the summer or early fall.
Clements said:
“I’m hoping to get it up for disposition by then,” after announcing that the trial that was tentatively scheduled for this month was continued to the later date.
According to the arrest warrant, Kodak Black allegedly forced the girl onto the bed, then the floor where he committed sexual battery, although she “repeatedly told the defendant no and to stop. The defendant did not stop.” He also allegedly bit the girl on the “neck and her right breast,” injuries that were documented in a rape kit.
“We are slowly but steadily moving toward a disposition,” said Clements. “I want to do justice for the victim, whatever that takes.”
