The music community is impatiently awaiting new tunes from Kendrick Lamar, who is gearing up to drop his DAMN album this Friday (April 14). In anticipation of the project's release, the Compton rapper is making some rounds and meeting with new faces, one of which included Minister Louis Farrakhan. The religious leader and the MC met this week, as Farrakhan is a big fan of Lamar and his musical movement.

The leader of the Nation of Islam posted a photo of the two of them together on Instagram.

"I was very honored to meet and talk with my powerful brother and Hip-Hop artist Kendrick Lamar," he wrote. "The Cultural Revolution is On."

Minister Farrakhan posted another photo embracing the To Pimp A Butterfly superstar.

"The artistic community has historically been in the vanguard of social change," he captioned the photo.

This was a big moment for both figures, as the two have never met before, but have praised each other for some time. Farrakhan once showed his appreciation for the rapper in a speech on his Facebook page.

"Kendrick Lamar set a new standard, he freed rappers to come on up," he wrote. "When the rappers are free to say it like it is... the cultural revolution is on."
