Jobs Alert: New York State Hiring 600 People To Work In Parks This Summer
If you love the outdoors and protecting the environment, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is hiring. The agency needs to fill more than 600 positions.
There are a variety of positions available for the summer season, including Park and Recreation Aide Series, Lifeguards, and Conservation Security Worker (previously Conservation Park Ranger). The lifeguard positions are great for teens looking for summer work. They pay $20 per hour and the minimum age is 15.
New York State DEC Summer Employment Positions
If you're in the area of the Adirondack or Catskill Forest Preserves, they are hiring Park and Recreation Aide Series and Conservation Security Worker (previously Conservation Park Ranger).
Would you like to work in New York State's beautiful Adirondack and Catskill Forest Preserves this summer? Jobs will typically start the last part of May and run through Labor Day or Columbus Day. Summer Recreation operates 52 public campgrounds and 5 day use areas throughout the Adirondack and Catskill Parks. Over 600 seasonal employees are employed to provide varied services throughout the summer season.

If you're interested in a Lifeguard position, you must go through training before starting the job. There are three upcoming training sessions at various locations:
Friday, May 26th at 4 pm - Catskill Recreation Center (DEC candidates only), 651 County Hwy 38, Arkville
Saturday, June 3rd at 9 am - Gloversville Middle School, 234 Lincoln Street, Gloversville
Saturday, June 24th at 9 am - Moriah Central School, 39 Viking Lane, Port Henry
