A group of local, county, and federal law enforcement officials partnered together to seize a large stockpile of weapons, cash, and drugs in the southern tier.

According to reporting by WKBW, “Operation Crazy Ivan” was executed after more than a year of investigating by the Jamestown Metro Drug Task Force. The JMDTF is a collaboration between the Southern Tier Regional Drug Task Force, Jamestown Police Department, Dunkirk Police Department, Ellicott Police Department, Chautauqua County Sheriff's SWAT Team, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The law enforcement officers executed quite a few search warrants all across Chautauqua County, including in Jamestown and Falconer.

When they were all said and done, officials came away with a very large cache guns, ammo, cash, and drugs. Among the items seized were:

  • More than 50 firearms, including shotguns and assault weapons,
  • More than a 100,000 rounds of ammo,
  • Several pounds of marijuana,
  • Cocaine,
  • and an undisclosed amount of cash.

According to law enforcement, they are not done with their investigations and more information is forthcoming.

This was a serious haul by police. These guys in Jamestown weren’t okaying around...
