According to the latest research from Challenger, Gray & Christmas, employers across the country could lose around $13.3 billion in productivity during the tournaments. Employees will be on the clock to watch games as early as Noon in New York and in the opening rounds could be watching back to back to back games.

According to the research about 75 million people will be spending around 6 to 10 hours of worktime on basketball.

So if you are a business owner in New York you should plan on lower levels of productivity until the first weekend of April when the Final Four will take place.
