A popular distillery in New York announced that it will be closing down permanently later this month.

According to a post on social media, Rochester-based Black Button Distilling is closing down on July 12th.


Why Is Black Button Distilling Closing Down?

According to the social media post, Jason Barrett the Founder & CEO stated that changing economic times makes it impossible to continue the business. You can watch his video post HERE.

The distillery was the first in Rochester since Prohibition and has been in business since 2012.

When Is Black Button Distilling Closing?

The business is expected to shut down on July 12th. The tasting room will be open for the final time on the 12th from 10 am until 4 pm. You will be able to order drinks and buy bottles of spirits during the last day of operations.

Even with Black Button Distilling closing down, New York State still has plenty of options for distilleries.
