It seems like finding a good place to eat is becoming harder every day. Just about every time you turn around, news breaks that another restaurant in Western New York is closing its doors.

The landscape for grabbing a bite to eat looks much different than it did just 5 years ago. That has been especially true in downtown Buffalo and its surrounding areas.

Over the last few months, we've not only seen the loss of several historic nightspots like the Old Pink and Mulligan's Brick Bar, wbut e've seen Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, The Downtown Bazaar, and Toutant all shut down permanently. You also can't forget that downtown's only grocery store, Braymiller Market, shut down towards the end of last year as well.

Another Beloved Restaurant Closing In Western New York

If this wasn't enough loss, news has come out that another popular restaurant is shutting its doors.

The Rose Bar and Grille, located just blocks from the KeyBank Center just outside of downtown at 199 Scott Street, is set to close down for good on Saturday, March 29, 2025.

In a Facebook post, the owners of Rose Bar & Grille announced the restaurant's closure and thanked a myriad of people who aided in its success over the last few years.

To our customers, family and friends, thank you so much for all your support over the last 6 years.
-Chris & Lisa Roosevelt, Owners of The Rose Bar and Grille

In addition to having pretty good food, The Rose was a go-to place for vibrant nightlife and to grab a drink after an event at the KeyBank Center.

It's unclear what's next for the physical restaurant space on the corner of Scott and Michigan, but we do know another restaurant is gone.
