Chick-fil-A Customers In New York State Might Be Mad About Its New Sandwich
Chick-fil-A has introduced a new sandwich and New Yorkers might be mad about it. Chick-fil-A is known for its chicken - nuggets, sammys, biscuits, and salads, right? But, I guess the popular restaurant is doing the whole "new year, new me" thing.
I'm old enough to remember when Cracker Barrel introduced a meat-free Impossible sausage and its "regulars" were up in arms about it. Why? I'm still not sure, but I know the word "woke" got thrown around quite a bit. If you don't like a meatless option, don't choose it. But alas, the backlash was real.
I truly wonder how Chick-fil-A customers, who are certainly fanatics, will react to its new sammy option.
Chick-fil-A Introduces A New Meatless Sandwich
One thing I know is that people in Buffalo seem to despise Buffalo cauliflower wings, so it will be interesting to see how they react to a cauliflower chicken sandwich. At least Chick-fil-A did take its time to decide on what plant-based option to offer. According to what Leslie Neslage, the director of menu and packaging for Chick-fil-A, told Southern Living, the culinary team tested more than two dozen concepts before landing on the cauli sammy. She told the publication,
What really matters is we want to have a menu of choice for our customers. Chicken is king for Chick-fil-A. That being said, customers really want to find a way to incorporate more vegetables into their diet. So it was really born out of a customer need. They want new flavor, new variety. That was the most important thing we deliver on—high-quality, fresh ingredients, great variety, and that we meet those customers where they are.

For now, the cauliflower sandwich is only available in three test markets - Denver, Colorado, Charleston, South Carolina, and Greensboro, North Carolina.
As someone who tries to make about 70 to 80 percent of my meals plant-based, I am excited that Chick-fil-A will have this as an option. Are you mad?
