Choosing Comfort and Safety When Booking a Ride
When my wife and I travel, or even when we take a quick ride here in Western New York, I don’t mind paying a little extra for a larger vehicle. At 6-foot-3, sitting in the back of a small car is not exactly comfortable. I also prefer not to sit in the front seat while my wife sits alone in the back.
For that reason, I typically choose Uber XL. It costs a bit more, but in my experience, the ride is more comfortable and the drivers often have higher ratings. That extra space can make a big difference, especially on longer trips.
Presidents’ Week Travel: What to Keep in Mind
It’s a busy week across New York State as families enjoy Presidents’ Week and February break. With more people traveling and attending events, rideshare demand is high.
If you plan to use Uber, Lyft, or another rideshare service this week, make sure:
- The app is legally operating in your area
- The driver has strong ratings
- The vehicle matches the description in the app
- You verify the license plate before getting in
Taking a few extra seconds to double-check your ride can help keep you and your family safe. As travel increases across New York State, convenience matters — but safety should always come first.
