Buffalo's Outdoor Public Pools Opening For Summer Season

The last few days in Buffalo and Western New York have been quite steamy as we've seen extremely warm and humid temps, as Buffalonians have struggled to find ways to stay cool. This is only the beginning, as we have a long but short summer ahead of us. September will be here before you know it, so we have to make the best of what we've got.

But, that's one of the greatest things about living in the 716; we have no shortage of nice places to enjoy the fun, sun, and water all around the region. There are tons of beaches and beach clubs to hang out at. However, if the beach isn't for you, then there are several other public pools in Buffalo and Western New York that you can hop in this summer.

Buffalo, New York, the State's second-largest municipality, has several indoor and outdoor public pools that are now open for the season.

When Do The Buffalo Public Pools Open

The City of Buffalo owns and operates 2 Indoor Pools, 2 Wading Pools, 7 Outdoor Pools, and 10 Splash Pads spread throughout the city.

The indoor pools are open year-round and can be used just about any time during their operating hours. The city's splash pads opened for the season on Memorial Day weekend and are on every day as long as the weather is good.

The city's wading pools have been open for a few weeks now since the warmer temps have arrived in Buffalo. Now, city swimming pools will join the wading pools when they open as of Tuesday, July 1, 2025, and will be open from 11am to 7pm daily.
