Baby Red Pandas On Display Now At The Buffalo Zoo
The Buffalo Zoo was excited to announce the birth of two new red pandas in June. Now, they're excited for you to see them!
Two new red pandas were born at the Buffalo Zoo in June
The International Union for Conservation of Nature considers red pandas endangered. That's just one reason why it was huge news for the Buffalo Zoo to be able to share that two of them were born back on June 10th. They were both females and were born to parents Himalaya and Mogwai. According to the zoo, they have been learning from them behind the scenes at the zoo since then. Now, though, they're ready to explore their new outdoor habitat where you'll be able to see them.
“We are so excited for our community to meet these two adorable red panda cubs, who are shining examples of our conservation mission at work,” - Buffalo Zoo President & CEO Lisa Smith.
The Red Pandas are now available to be seen by visitors at the zoo
My kids used to love seeing baby animals at the zoo when they were little. Your kids are going to love these little ladies. They look like a reddish-brown raccoon and they really are pretty adorable.
Be aware that their visibility in the outdoor habitat will be limited each day. They said the best time to see them will be in the morning and the early afternoon. Of course, they cannot guarantee that you'll see them during your visit, and that the timing of them being in the habitat will change as they grow.
To make it even better news, these two cubs are the 14th and 15th cubs to have been born at the Buffalo Zoo and the second litter born to their parents, Himalaya and Mogwai.
