According to the morning weather report for today, August 26, 2021, on Power 93.7 WBLK from Jonathon Cubit of WIVB Channel 4, which airs during the Steve Harvey Morning Show, it may feel like 100 degrees today,

Heat and humidity continue to plague Western New York for another day. We're gonna see temperatures close to record high, as we're going to tap out in the upper 80s, lower 90s. Factoring in that humidity, all of WNY will feel like we're well into the 90s, some spots will feel like we're in the lower 100s even.

Here are some tips to avoid heat illnesses, including heat exhaustion, heatstroke or even death:

- Stay hydrated - drink plenty of water and electrolytes
- Do not leave children or pets unattended in parked vehicles
- Stay indoors in an air-conditioned area
- Avoid doing any strenuous activities, like exercise during the hottest times of the day
- Wear breathable clothing
- Avoid direct sunlight, if at all possible

When I called the City of Buffalo Pool information line this morning, I was told that the splash pads have extended the hours again today due to the heat. They will stay open an extra hour, until 8 pm.
