Health Code Violations In Allegany County Last Month

Allegany County has published a list of restaurants that had health code violations during their latest inspections in February. Foodborne illnesses are unfortunate but happen fairly often here in America, even though we are a first-world country. That's one of the reasons I share the list of restaurants that passed their health code inspections.

Within each county, there are food inspectors who make monthly visits to restaurants and other places that prepare food, like jails, clubs, and schools. These inspectors are the unsung heroes of our communities - making sure that food is prepared safely and reporting when it isn't. They grade each restaurant to ensure they are following the food preparation protocols and food safety rules. Their reports can include violations such as "Accurate thermometers not available or used to evaluate refrigerated or heated storage temperatures" and critical violations like "Potentially hazardous foods are not stored under refrigeration except during necessary preparation or approved precooling procedures (room temperature storage)."

There were 14 restaurants in Allegany County that had violations during their inspections in February.
