It's been really nice weather the past few days in Buffalo but that changes by Thursday and Friday.

A wintry mix should make Thursday messy with sleet and ice expected across Western New York. Some minor accumulating snow could be in store for Thursday, however.

Friday is the biggest snow day. According to WIVB Weather, a good 6 inches could fall in Western New York by the time Friday is done.

This system could hit Niagara County the hardest though.

WGRZ says 5-9 inches could fall in northern Western New York, along the Niagara Frontier from late Wednesday night through Friday evening. It all depends on how north the warm air of the storm system gets but if cold air prevails, Niagara County could see the most of anyone by Saturday.

All in all, looks like this should be enough snow to shovel by late Friday night or early Saturday morning.
