7 Fun Things To Do Around Buffalo And WNY This Holiday Weekend
Labor Day weekend is upon us. It's the last weekend before school starts and often feels like the last weekend of the summer. If you don't have big vacation plans and want to hang out in Western New York, here are some fun things to do. I've included some events and things that won't break the bank, since I know how expensive school shopping is.
1. Spend The Day At Becker Farms

Becker Farms Free Fire Fridays is tonight, September 2, 2022, and every Friday through September 30th from 7 pm to 10 pm. You can purchase smores kits in the Brewpub. Admission to Becker Farms is free Monday through Friday.
On Saturday, starting at 10 am, Becker Farms hosts Fall Fun On The Farm. Your ticket includes picking apples, live music, a playground, a mega slide, a corn maze, a petting zoo, a rope maze, and more fun activities. Tickets also include parking, as well as access to the Garden Market, Beer Garden, Brew Pub, and Apple Barn

2. The Buffalo Wing Festival

The Buffalo Wing Festival takes place on Saturday, 12 pm to 9 pm, and Sunday, from 12 pm to 7 pm. The event features live music, a mullet contest, wing eating contests, wing-bobbing, and of course, lots of Buffalo Wings. Tickets are $20 each day.

3. Spend The Day At Canalside

There is always plenty to do at Canalside and this weekend is no different.
Buffalo Heritage Carousel
The Buffalo Heritage Carousel is open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 12 to 5 pm. The cost is $1 to ride. There are also several displays that tell the story of the Carousel's history.
Blue Bikes
You can rent them at the Information Kiosk At Canalside. The Bikes are super affordable. Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield of WNY Members get the first hour free, non-members only pay $1 for the first hour and full-day rentals are $15.
Roller Skating
The roller rink at Canalside is open on Friday and Saturday from 12 pm to 10 pm and Sunday from 12 pm to 8 pm. The prices for skating at the rink are $6 for adults and $2 for children ages 13 and under. Admission does not include the cost of skate rentals which is $4 if you do not have your own skates.

The museum is open Friday and Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm. Tickets for adults and children (ages 1 & up) are $11. Children under age 1 are free.

Architects of Air will be at Canalside's Dart Lawn through September 5.
4. Buffalo Jazz Fest

Buffalo Jazz Festival will take place on Sunday, September 4 from 12 pm to 6 pm. The event is free and open to the public. NYC saxophonist John Troy, Trigger and the Sermon, Dave Hill, and The Wendell Rivera Latin Jazz Ensemble will be performing. There will be food so you can grab a bite to eat.

5. 4th Annual MacFest
Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church

Macedonia Baptist Church is hosting its 4th Annual MacFest this Sunday, September 4, 2022, from 1 pm to 5 pm. There will be a free backpack and school supply giveaway, COVID-19 screenings, teeth cleanings, haircuts, ice cream, music, bounce houses, a petting zoo, face painting, local vendors, community organizations, as well as food trucks. Macedonia Baptist Church will hold an outdoor morning worship service at 11:30 am.
6. Laugh Out Loud Volume XXII starring Comedian Joe Torry
New Golden Nugget

Laugh Out Loud Volume XXII will take place on Saturday from 7 pm to 10:30 pm. The show, which is hosted by Darnell Davis, features Joe Torry, Joel James, Fatman Tango Timm, “The Mayor” Julian Russell, and Richie Santana.

7. Camp Good-N-High 2022
